About the Creator
My name is Téa, pronounced as Tay-ah, though I often have friends who fondly call me all sorts of beverage names related to tea. I’m currently an art and language teacher, as well as, a freelance graphic and web designer.
I have been actively creating art since the early 1990’s and began to design professionally some time around late 1995, working in a wide variety of fields and mediums. I started out with studio/fine arts but eventually branched out in many other areas of art and design.
While I have always operated on and off as a freelancer throughout the years, my career also included in-house design experience as a Creative Director where my responsibilities consisted of coordinating and overseeing a constant flow of large-scale projects. These ranged from identity development, web design, posters, catalogs, packaging design, banner ads, to product design and more. Other past projects also include hands-on visual merchandising/display design, large trade show presentation, fashion show organization, as well as, fashion graphics and design.
I’m a firm believer in learning and improving through persistence and constant experimentation. While I had an art/design education background, I did not dabble with computers in my time as it wasn’t as widely used as today. In truth, all the graphics and web work I do today are self-taught through observation, trial and error, and a whole lot of reading. I’m constantly trying to improve myself and learn new things, because it is my belief that there’s always room for growth when it comes to creativity.
To me, art has always been my personal form of expression and a way for me to just enjoy what I do. I think I have been so blessed to be able to share my work with others and to receive such great support and positivity on the things that I do. It truly makes what I create that much more enjoyable. I’m very thankful for that!
